Eto'o off to African Nations Cup after Bilbao game
Samuel Eto'o will join up with the Cameroon squad for the African Nations Cup after Barca's game against Athletic Bilbao on 15 January at the Nou Camp.
Eto'o met with Frank Rijkaard this morning to finalise the details of his departure and the good news is that the Cameroon striker has delayed joining his national team until the last moment and will be able to play for the club in the league against Espanyol (7 January) and Athletic Bilbao (15 January), as well as the second leg of the cup game against Zamora next week.
Flight to Egypt
Samuel Eto'o will travel to Egypt on 16 January to join up with Artur Jorge's squad for the first phase of the competition. Both the player and the club's technical staff have agreed that Eto'o will not interrupt his time in Egypt to make any trips back to Barcelona.
Cameroon schedule
Cameroon have been drawn in Group B of the African Nations Cup and begin their schedule of games on 21 January against Angola, before playing Togo on 25 January and RD Congo four days later. If Cameroon get through to the next phase as winners of their group they will play the quarter finals on 4 February, with the semis three days later and the final due for 10 February.
