Finke spoke to the media ahead of the do-or-die Fifa 2014 World Cup qualifying playoff, second leg against Tunisia on Sunday. The teams drew 0-0 in the first leg in Tunisia.

Talking about the choice of players, Finke said they had supervised over 42 players recently and have opted for regulars in their club sides. He admitted the team doesn’t have a playmaker in the likes of Ozil or Iniesta. Thus, he needs to adapt his strategy and the players must play in at least two positions.

He went on to defend Achille Webo, who has been taken apart by the local media in Cameroon for a week.

"Webo, who plays as striker had spent too much energy in the away game running at least 12 km (in Tunisia). He found himself in a situation where he was tired and missed an opportunity. Such is football. I think we should calm down with the situation because Webo is here with all his heart for Cameroon," said Finke.

Talking of the local players, he said they still have to improve before being fit to join the national team.

Concerning the game strategy, Finke refuted criticisms of playing at a slow pace by saying all depends on the conditions of the match and the opponent.

"We try in our games to control the match, to get possession of the ball. When the opponent closes the game, you must keep the ball and run to find fault before attacking.
