Tou est OK POur Bassong...fort heureusement!!!
Tottenham Hotspur defender Sebastien Bassong left the pitch at Chelsea yesterday on a stretcher and wearing a neck brace, after a heavy fall led to him being concussed. Happily, Spurs revealed today that the centre-back has been given the "all-clear".
Harry Redknapp's side were humbled by the Blues to the tune of a 3-0 defeat, with Ashley Cole, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba all getting on the scoresheet for the Premier League leaders.
Aside from the result, Spurs fans will have been worried by the sight of first-choice defenders Bassong and King both being forced off through injury.
A statement on the club's official website, though, allayed those fears: "Sebastien Bassong was back at Spurs Lodge today [Monday] for further assessment after being given the all-clear by a head-and-neck consultant at a hospital on Sunday evening.
"The Cameroon international centre-half was stretchered off after suffering a head injury in the second half of our fixture against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
"Ledley King will undergo a scan on his right hamstring after also being forced off with injury early-on in the second half yesterday afternoon."
