Personnally, I do not appreciate the postponement of the MTN/CAF Awards. When is the ceremony planned now? It is a real pity and would cause more polemics than before!
Just imagine that it is planned for a date after the Nations' Cup, and that a player who was not elected - I believe CAF has already received all the votes, I hope so - is outstanding during the tournament! That would be a source of huge polemics! Now if the ceremony is place during the tournament, the result can trouble and deconcentrate the player who would be elected.
If it depended only on me the ceremony should take place, even in the absence of the recipient!

Caf awards ceremony postponed
The annual Confederation of African Football (Caf) awards ceremony fixed for 9 January in the Nigerian capital Abuja has been postponed.
The ceremony has been delayed following a request from the organisers of the event.
The telephone company that sponsors the ceremony said they could not guarantee the presence of most of the top nominees for the various categories of awards.
Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o, who has won the individual award in the past two years, Michael Essien of Ghana and Ivorian Didier Drogba are in the running for last year's Caf African Footballer of the Year.
"We plan to have the three players available for the award," Caf Communications Director Suleiman Habuba told BBC Sport.
"In the past, we gave the award in absentia but that is not the plan for now.
"The sponsors are keen to have them in Abuja and that is still number one on the priority list."
Habuba added that the Caf executive committee will now meet on 16 January in the Egyptian capital Cairo to decide on a new date.
The meeting comes just four days before Egypt hosts the Nations Cup.

TU AS OUBLIE LE SENEGAL GRAND ROGER

Brondby confirm Elanga purchase
Elanga has signed a four-year contract with Brondby
Danish side Brondby have confirmed the signing of Cameroon defender Joseph Elanga from Swedish club Malmo FF.
While the deal was agreed last week, the 26-year-old signed his four-year contract on Tuesday.
"He is a very fast player who, at the same time, is talented with the ball," Brondby coach Michael Laudrup said.
Elanga leaves his Swedish club after 233 appearances, in which he scored 13 goals.
Brondy, the reigning Danish champions, are currently second in the league, trailing leaders FC Copenhagen by four points.
