WASHINGTON--Six people including a bank employee have been arrested in connection with a robbery of a BB&T in Wheaton.
The FBI and Montgomery County Police said they made the arrests over the weekend.

Police have identified Elizabeth K. Tarke, 40, of Olney as a BB&T employee and was taken into police custody.

The other suspects are: Phillippe H. Ngassa, 46, Robert T. Tataw, 42, Ernest N. Yossa, 43, Edmond K. Machie, 38, all of Silver Spring, and David P. Mbom, 38, of Catonsville, Md.

Last Wednesday, Montgomery County police said a man dressed in an armored guard uniform entered the BB&T Bank at 11501 Georgia Avenue. Police said the man told bank employees he was filling in for the regular courier who he said was on vacation.

The bank employees handed him an undisclosed amount of money and he left. Bank workers realized what happened the next day, when the regular courier came to make his pickup. The courier verified with his supervisors that no deposits from the BB&T Bank branch had been received by his company AT Systems.

The suspect was not wearing an official AT Systems uniform, police said.

Since the investigation is on-going the identity of the suspect who posed as the security guard hasn't been released.

Police obtained search warrants for Tarke's home. They said she had contact with the phony security guard. After further investigation, police said Mbom visited Tarke's home and left in a car driven by Tataw.
