In the quest to win the African Cup of Nations the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) is offering cash incentives to the tune of N133 million to the Super Eagles players.
This is the breakdown of the incentive the NFA agreed with the players: $3,000 for tournament appearance for every player; $15,000 for every player for qualification for the quarter finals; $7,000 for victory in the quarter finals; $9,000 for victory in the semi finals and $15,000 for lifting the trophy proper. There is a consolatory $7,500 for runner slot and $5,000 for bronze medal placing.
“We have nothing to hide. That is why we have come to show you our books. Every Nigerian wants the Nations Cup to come back to the country after 14 years†the FA boss told the players.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is not ruling out Fifa action if goalkeeper Sammy Adjei is not released by Israeli side Ashdod for pre-African Cup of Nations training camp.
Claude Le Roy has welcomed his English-quartet to Ghana’s camp base in Abu Dhabi as the Black Stars steadily get on with preparations for the African Cup of Nations. Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, John Paintsil and Richard Kingson joined the team at midnight on Sunday to raise the squad number to 26. The only squad member yet to join in is goalkeeper, Sammy Adjei of Israeli side, Ashdod. Sammy Adjei’s arrival at the Abu Dhabi camp would hand Claude Le Roy a full house as he continues preparations ahead of the competition.
