Egypt duo, Ahmed Salama and Mohsin Hindawi have been ruled out of the 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana 2008 with injuries.
Salama who plays for local side Tersana has sustained a thigh injury while Ghazl Mahalla winger, Hindawi is due for surgery after pains in the liver.
The two players were included in Coach Hassan Shehata’s preliminary 32-man squad for the January 20 – February 10 championships.
Their absence is expected to further worsen the worries of Coach Shehata after influential striker Ahmed Hassan “Mido†missed out on a similar note.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough midfielder Mohamed Shawky will join group after his team's game against Everton next Wednesday.
The former Ahli midfielder made his league debut last Saturday and is expected to be in the team's starting lineup.
