Samuel Eto’o, Barcelona F.C.'s star forward, will arrive in Israel on 23rd of May, for a visit hosted by the Peres Center for Peace and Supergoal. Eto'o, who scored the equalising goal against Arsenal F.C. in the 2006 Champions League Final last week, leading to Barcelona's win, will visit the sports projects of the Peres Center, meeting with children who play soccer in mixed Palestinian-Israeli teams.
On the evening of the 23rd of May, a reception will be held at the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv in honor of Eto’o’s arrival. During the evening, Eto'o will address the audience, talking about the long road from being a poor youngster in the Cameroons, to becoming an internationally celebrated star, and an advocate for stamping out racism in sport. In addition, an auction of rare sports paraphernalia will be held, including items from F.C. Barca, Jose Mourinho, Ronaldo and Eto’o himself. The highest bidders will have their purchases personally autographed and dedicated by Eto’o, with all proceeds going toward the peacebuilding projects of the Peres Center for Peace.
