According to reports in Asia, Barcelona star Samuel Eto’o has joined Asian champions Al Ittihad on loan.
The Asian Football Confederation's official site reported that at a press conference held in Jeddah to announce his signing, the Cameroonian star said, “I am not playing for the money alone. Happiness is my priority that's why I chose to play with Ittihad in the AFC Champions League."
The details of the contract have not been disclosed but the Saudi Arabian press have said that the star has agreed to play for the team for three months in the Champions League when the quarter-finals begin in September and could appear in the Club World Championship in December if the team qualifies.
Monaco star Mohammed Kallon is on loan in Jeddah and it has been no secret that the Saudi side have been trailing the Barcelona star for some time. However, it wouldn't be the first time that Al Ittihad President Mansoor Al-Balawi has claimed to have made a big-name signing only for the deal to fall through.
