ALEX FERGUSON wants Cameroon star Jean II Makoun to be his new Roy Keane.
Ferguson checked out both Lille star Makoun and his French midfield partner Mathieu Bodmer on Tuesday.
He now plans a £12million bid to try to bring them to Old Trafford this summer.
Makoun, 22, will jump at the chance to join United.
He said: “If a good offer comes in, myself, the manager and the board will study it.
“There comes a time when you have to look elsewhere.â€
Ferguson first became interested in the pair during this season’s Champions League appearances against United.
Since then, he has had them watched constantly and saw the duo for himself in this week’s 2-1 French Cup defeat by Paris St Germain.
