@ Big Will
Thank you so very much for reminding Zambia man that www. camfoot.com is indeed a football site. I was so sickened and insulted by his comments that I felt obligated to respond; even though decency requires silence to "imbecile" comments.
On a different note, I cannot agree more with you that it is a mere football game and must remain so. The toughest part though is when one has the impression that we did neither properly nor efficiently utilize the resources that which we had at our disposal. It was utterly sickening to watch our forwards surrounded by 4 to 5 Ivorian defenders and midfileders with no support. Jesus! One needs not to be a professional "footballeur" to realize that the odds are against you in such matchups. As I indicated in my initial response, some of us who followed Paris-St-Germain (I incidently, without bragging, played against their U-21 team when AJ was head-coach of 1st team!) under Artur Jorge's management should not be surprised. Let's remember the conditions under which he left PSG; even the most die-hard fans (the idiotic racists of Le Kop de la Tribune Boulogne) confessed their team's display was no champagne football. It was indeed closer to the boring Arsenal FC style before Wenger took over.
How could one justify the fact that The Lions went for 90 minutes against Ivory Coast in defensif style reminiscent to Kamerun-Polska or Kamerun-Italia, circa Espana 1982? What was the coach afraid of? With two strikers, you would assume 4 defenders and two defensif midfielders would have sufficed. I ran out of steam counting the number of times Eto'o, Ngom Kom, Douala and Meyong Ze had the ball, surrounded by 3 to 4 Ivorians and no support whatsoever from their teammates. Is not that malpractice or what?
Lastly, I think, with all due respect to the guy, it is time Mr. Mbarga Mboa Philippe resigns (well, I am neither holding my breath nor betting my house on that!!!)! While decency has its obligations and as you well indicated, this is a football site, I am however convinced that we are utterly doomed so long as that fellow is in charge. FOOTBALL AND THE LIONS ARE TOO A SERIOUS MATTER, to paraphrase Georges Clemenceau, TO BE LEFT TO MBARGA MBOA AND OTHER INCOMPETENT THIEVES! DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON MASSA POPOL (avec son face de maquillasse, to quote a "Maguida" at Carrefour Bastos IN Yaounde after the failed 1984 Coup d' Etat).
Be well and let's hope for a better future.
