Diomansy Kamara missed a penalty for Senegal against the DR Congo
Senegal were booed off the pitch as they were held to a 0-0 draw by the DR Congo in Dakar on Saturday.
The Teranga Lions had several good chances to score but a tight DR Congo defence held firm.
The best chance of the game came in the 85th minute when Senegal were given a penalty after Henri Camara was fouled in the area, but the DR Congo goalkeeper Pascal Kalemba Lukoki saved Diomansy Kamara's spot kick.
Kamara had come on as a second half substitute and injected some much needed pace and skill into the game and he linked up will with El-Hadji Diouf, but they were unable to breach a solid DR Congo defence.
The Simbas played without their captain Lomana LuaLua, who had been given permission to stay and play for his English Premiership club Portsmouth.
The stadium in Dakar was only half-full for the game and some angry fans left before the final whistle.
Both sides were using the game to prepare for next week's African Nations Cup in Egypt.
Senegal are in the so-called group of death at the tournament and their opening fixture is against Zimbabwe on 23 January before games with Nigeria and Ghana.
The DR Congo are in Group B at the Nations Cup and start their campaign against Togo next Saturday and will then play Angola and Cameroon.
