Egypt 2006: ‘Players won’t have problem with bonuses’
The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has assured of a crisis-free African Nations cup in Egypt starting January 20, 2006.
The NFA boss, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, in interview on Friday, said players’ winning bonuses and allowances are being taken care off, promising that there won’t be any problem between the players and the NFA during the nations’ cup.
According to Galadima, the NFA will be paying the players the same winning bonus players got during the 2006 world cup qualifiers.
“They know what we paid them during the qualifiers, we are paying the same and since the players are not complaining about this, we will still use the same yardstick,†he said.
He said until the players complain about the present winning bonuses and allowances, there won’t be need to review them.
According to him, “if the players complain, then there would be the need to sit down with the players.â€
He said the NFA had sent to the sports ministry the estimate of what it would cost the nation to prosecute the Nations’ Cup in Egypt, adding that the ministry would take care of that.
He said he had been elected into the board of the NFA since only two people contested from the North-West zone.
