Fabio Rochemback has urged Middlesbrough to resurrect a deal for his former Sporting Lisbon team-mate Rodolph Douala.
Boro tried to land the Cameroon international in the summer but failed to push through a £5 million deal and eventually moved for Rochemback instead.
Now the Brazilian, who used to play regularly with Douala at the Estadio Jose Alvalde, is advising boss Steve McClaren to make the African wide man his number one target when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Teessiders are known to be in the market for a right-sided winger and Rochemback has given Douala a glowing reference.
"I speak to him and know he wants to play in England and would like to come to this club," Rochemback stated.
"I'd love to see him here because he is really talented and a very good team player."
