US congress says Cameroon soldiers are responsible for most killings, destruction in NW, SW
The Congress of the United States of America has reiterated its stance on the ongoing Anglophone Crisis.
In a three page letter addressed to President Paul Biya, US congress explains that unlike the picture painted by the regime, the situation on the ground is deteriorating.
"Military action can not solve this conflict " it adds. Despite rights violations by non state armed groups, "a broad spectrum of international and domestic experts disagree with the Cameroon government's assertion that non state armed groups are responsible for most of the violence".
US congress went on to warn that subsequent US-Cameroon relations will depend on government's commitment to engage in sincere dialogue.
