Eto'o set for double act
"If I have to travel between Egypt and Spain then I will do so
Samuel Eto'o Fils
Samuel Eto'o Fils, the reigning African Footballer of the Year, is prepared to commute between Egypt - venue of next year's African Cup of Nations finals - and clubside Barcelona.
The Cameroon striker, who scored 24 goals for Barcelona in last's season's successful Spanish league campaign, said this could be the only way to meet competing club and international commitments.
"I will do my best to see what solution we can find," Eto'o was quoted as saying in newspaper La Vanguardia.
"If I have to travel between Egypt and Spain then I will do so."
Barcelona could be without the striker for four league matches and two Cup games, should Cameroon reach the final of the African championship, which is between 20 January-10 February.
Club officials fear Eto'o's absence could have a negative impact on their ambition to retain their Primera Liga crown.
Eto'o has commuted between tournaments in the past.
During the 2003 Confederations Cup, he traveled between France and Spain, in order to play in crucial ties for former club Real Mallorca.
Eto'o was a member of the Cameroon squad that won the African title in 2000 and 2002 and also featured at the 2004 finals in Tunisia.
