Aid Chief Warns International Community-Intervene Now Or Face Disaster In Cameroons
A Norwegian Refugee Council aid chief in a telephone interview to Reuters after visiting Southern Cameroons has raised an alarm to the international community to act, intervene now or the Cameroons will be a disaster no one will love to see. The aid chief was bitter that the violence and atrocities he has witnessed in Southern Cameroons and the neglect of the international community is mind boggling. Jan Egeland, secretary general of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), said " There are atrocities every single day against civilians and the world doesn’t seem to know or want to know about it. I really, really hope there will be mediation efforts, that there will be an outreach and an interest in dialogue on both sides that will lead to talks which can end this before it is too late"
