Egypt's captain warns Cameroon
By Amr Shaheen
BBC Sport, Cairo

Egypt's captain has warned Cameroon that they will not be given easy passage to the World Cup finals.

Ahmed Hassan's side take on the Indomitable Lions in a Group Three tie in Yaoundé on 9 October but are already out of the race to Germany.

In contrast, the 1990 World Cup quarter-finalists revived their chances of reaching their fifth consecutive finals with a stunning 3-2 victory over Ivory Coast on Sunday.

"It does not matter whether Cameroon or Ivory Coast reach the World Cup finals," Hassan told BBC Sport.

"But I know that we will play a fair game in Yaoundé and the Cameroonians should not take us for granted," said the Besiktas of Turkey player.

Egypt, who thrashed Benin 4-1 on Sunday, are the host side for next year's African Cup of Nations finals.

Amr Zaki, who scored a hat trick in Sunday's match, echoed the opinion of his captain.

"We were able to beat Cameroon 3-2 here in Cairo.

"Another victory in Yaoundé will prove that we were just not lucky enough to reach the finals in Germany," the 22-year-old said.
