Valid points... but this is why their challenges lie with institutions with commercial or universal banking licences which currently control a huge pool of resources, including loanable funds. That will be the key for their financial inclusion by bypassing the local blocks and by the way, I work for one of these Private Equity organization for which I am in charge of customer assessment and manage small loan portfolios including some African SME loans.
In my opinion, there must be transformational change to harness the SME potential in Cameroon. Banks together with government, have a role to play but do not be limited by their shortcomings... Capacity- building support from stakeholder institutions such as direct support investment (in the form of grants or credit with concessional rates) can accelerate SME potential tremendously!!
