West Ham United are preparing for the worst after Alex Song travelled to Cameroon to meet with representatives of the country’s football federation to thrash out his international future.
The Hammers now believe Song will compete in the Africa Cup of Nations and miss the rest of January after originally being left out of the Cameroon squad.
Song had been frozen out of his national team after being sent-off in Cameroon’s World Cup game against Croatia and was the shock omission from last month’s Africa Cup of Nations squad announcement.
