FINKE A SUBIT DES PRESSIONS
CA C EST PAS SA LISTE

Despite choosing to play in the tournament, Cameroon's Alex Song has been left out of the African Cup of Nations.

Song, 27, had previously advised tournament organisers to cancel the competition amid the ebola crisis in West Africa, but had reportedly decided to represent his country this week.

That would have meant Song flying out to Equatorial Guinea for up to a month at the start of 2015, where West Ham would have lost their star midfielder for crucial Premier League games.

However, the Cameroon federation announced their 23-man squad for the tournament earlier this morning - and have shockingly left Song at home.

Song's World Cup campaign for Cameroon ended in the first half of the second group game against Croatia, having petulantly elbowed Mario Mandzukic, and it seems that he hasn't quite been forgiven for that just yet.

Instead, manager Volker Finke has chosen to select players like Eyong Enoh, Stephane M'Bia and Raoul Loe in midfield in a surprise decision.

That leaves Song to continue playing for West Ham, which will be a monumental boost for Sam Allardyce considering that Cheikhou Kouyate and Diafra Sakho will be playing for Senegal in the tournament.
Merci de patienter...
