Chelsea and Manchester United are launching a mega raid for Barcelona star Samuel Eto'o.
The Mirror says both clubs have lodged big-money bids with the Spanish champions for the striker who was narrowly edged out in the race to top La Liga's goal-scoring charts last season.
Chelsea's offer is believed to be £18 million while United's is said to be slightly less. However, neither matches Barca's £25m valuation of the Cameroon finisher.
Jose Maria Mesalles, agent for Eto'o, said last night: "Chelsea and Manchester have been interested in Eto'o for many months. I am sure he will stay in Spain but he would be a success in any league and England is one of the most attractive."
