samuel eto'oReports in the media today are suggesting that Samuel Eto’o is close to signing a two-year deal with Everton.
With Arouna Kone still some way from fitness and Romelu Lukaku injuring his toe in Saturday’s draw with Arsenal, Roberto Martinez knows that it is crucial that another striker joins the club.
Eto’o is said to have been on £130,000 a week at Chelsea, but is prepared to reduce those wage demands if he is given a two-year deal, which at 33 is a gamble.
Martinez had been believed to be prepared to wait until the deadline before deciding on Eto’o, but the knock to Lukaku – believed to be minor – could have shown him that time is not something Everton have much of as the clock ticks down to deadline day.
