Chelsea's Drogba: I can handle Adriano battle
tribalfootball.com - May 19, 2005
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has shrugged off the prospect of competing for a place with Inter Milan ace Adriano next season at Stamford Bridge.
"I read the papers too so I know that apparently Chelsea are interested in Adriano," he told the L'Equipe newspaper.
"If Adriano or another top forward arrives, we'll see what happens.
"We'll see notably if he is ready to defend like a madman for the good of the team, like I have done this season.
"Honestly, I'd be very curious to see that. I don't fear anyone. Really, nobody."
Drogba, who actually knocked Inter out of the UEFA Cup last season, added that he could not see himself playing alongside the South American.
"I don't think I could play with him in a 4-4-2," he continued. "We've used that system a few times this season with Eidur Gudjohnsen, but very rarely.
"That's not the way the coach likes to play. He prefers to have one centre forward."
