Chelsea to test Barcelona resolve with £30M Eto'o bid
tribalfootball.com - May 18, 2005
Chelsea will test Barcelona president Joan Laporta's resolve with a mega bid for Samuel Eto'o in the summer.
The Sun says Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has identified the Cameroon international striker as the man to boost his attack next season and is ready to offer £30 million when the summer market opens.
Eto'o insists he is happy at the Nou Camp, but has been the target of criticism from the Spanish press this week after insulting remarks about former employers Real Madrid at Barcelona's title celebrations on Monday night.
There also have been reports this month that Eto'o has become isolated from teammates over his pursuit of the top scorer's award this season - which has encouraged Chelsea to believe they can convince the African to move to London.
