The organising committee for the 2014 Commonwealth games have refused to change with the times and are looking to cash in on the media through exorbitant rate card fees.
Even organisers of the controversy ridden New Delhi Games four years ago understood that the internet fee for the media would not be acceptable.
As it did prior to the London Olympics, the AIPS believes that the organisers should offer the rate card at no cost as it has been done in major championships and previous Club games.

"LAUSANNE, March 26, 2014 - Remember concerns over the cost of Internet for accredited media prior to the 2012 London Olympics?
It is a charge that journalists who will be returning to the United Kingdom this summer for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland may have to bear yet again.
Clearly the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) in Glasgow have refused to change with the times and are looking to cash in on the media through exorbitant internet fees, when many organizers of major championships are now offering the service for no charge.
