Cameroon coach Volker Finke further confirmed this in a recent interview.

“I’m very pleased he (Eto’o) has left behind his Russia experience and now I think that at Chelsea he’s coming back to his best level,” the BBC reported the veteran German coach as saying. “He is Cameroon’s best player and can make the difference at the World Cup,” he continued.

Despite acknowledging the football prowess of Pichichi, 32, Finke said Eto’o alone cannot make the difference in the Brazil escapade.

“Football today is about depth, you need a minimum of 10 to 12 individual players of top ability. They have to give to the team. It is no longer a game where just one can make a difference. You need many, each of whom can make a difference,” Finke justified.
