FIFA officials on Gambia visit
The Normalisation Committee of the Gambia Football Association says it wishes to inform the general public that two senior officials from FIFA would visit The Gambia from Wednesday 4th July, which is yesterday to today Thursday 5th July, 2012 as guests of the Gambia Football Association.
During their two day official visit in the country, Mr Primo Carvalo, Head of FIFA Football Associations and Mr Prosper Abega, Senior administrator at FIFA would meet members of the GFA Normalisation Committee on the state of Gambian football and map out the way forward.
The FIFA officials would further discuss with the Constitutional Review committee on the GFA draft constitution with the aim of amending and aligning it with the FIFA recommended statutes.
Mr Primo and Mr. Abega would wrap up their sojourn on Thursday 5th July 2012 after visiting football facilities in the Greater Banjul Area.
This will be preceded by a courtesy call on the honorable minister of Youth and Sports Alieu K Jammeh in Banjul on Wednesday July 4th 2012.
Cognizance of the excellent relationship betweeen the Gambia Football Association and the World governing body of football (FIFA), the Normalisation Committee is exceedingly glad to welcome the FIFA officials to the smiling coast of Africa and is ready to assist them in whatever means necessary to make their stay in Banjul a resounding success.
The two FIFA officials Mr Primo Carvalo Head of FIFA Football Associations and Mr Prosper Abega, Senior Administrator who are currently in The Gambia to review the draft GFA Constitution, would be engaged in an exhibition football match together with members of the GFA Normalisation Committee at the FIFA Gold Project in Yundum on Thursday 5 th July, 2012 at 5pm.
