best player award 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil: FIFA names nominees for best player award - World soccer's governing body, FIFA, has announced the six players shortlisted for the Adidas Golden Ball, awarded to the best player of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup due to round off in Brazil on Sunday night.
According to FIFA, all the nominees are from Brazil, Italy, Spain and Uruguay, the four semi-finalists.
The winner will be determined by media representatives accredited for the event, and announced immediately after the final.
The runner-up wins the Adidas Silver Ball, with the Adidas Bronze Ball awarded to the player that finished third.
The shortlisted candidates are Andres Iniesta and Sergio Ramos from Spain; Neymar and Paulinho from Brazil: Andrea Pirlo from Italy; and Luis Suarez from Uruguay.
Kaka and Adriano, both from Brazil, won the award in 2009 and 2005, respectively.
