Gabonese president, Omar Bongo has promised each member of the panthers the sum of $3,000 to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the March 26 World Cup qualifiers billed for the Liberation stadium in Port-Harcourt.
The President stated that the qualification ticket for the 2006 World Cup is still within the reach of the Panthers stressing that they should do everything humanly possible to subdue Nigeria.
“in the game of soccer anything is possible, even though Nigeria has one of the best players in the Globe, we are also blessed with abundant talented players but we will strive hard to secure victory at the end of the day,†President Bongo opined.
The breakdown shows that each player would receive $3,000 totalling $54,000 for 18 players and the head coach will get $5,000.
Meanwhile, the chief coach of the Panthers, Brazillian-born Jarzinho is expected to arrive France on Wednesday to monitor Super Eagles players preparatory to the crucial March 26 game.
The coach is also expected to embark on some European countries to watch some Nigerian players, before returning to Libreville on March 20.
