GEREMI WOULD BE JUST THE JOB FOR BORO Middlesbrough striker Joseph-Desire Job would love to see close friend Geremi back at the Riverside.
Cameroon international midfielder Geremi has made it clear he is unhappy at Chelsea under manager Jose Mourinho due to his lack of first-team football.
The 26-year-old spent the 2002-03 season on loan with Boro from Real Madrid, and boss Steve McClaren had hoped to make the move permanent. But Chelsea, then managed by Claudio Ranieri and with the wealth of Roman Abramovich at their disposal, snatched Geremi from Boro's grasp with a £6.9million bid.
Although Geremi played a significant role under Ranieri last season, he has made only 12 appearances this term, with just four starts, and with his last in the Barclays Premiership on August 21 in a 1-0 win at Birmingham.
A frustrated Geremi is now looking to quit Stamford Bridge during the current transfer window, describing the option of a return to Middlesbrough as "excellent".
Job said: "I'm still in touch with him and I think he would be delighted to come back, but it doesn't just depend on him.
"If it would only depend on him he would have been here already.
"I hope he does come back. He is a good friend and for me was the best player in the season when he was here before.
"The fans love him and he would definitely help the side."
