Corruption : Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria at the Helm.
According to an investigation made by the English newspaper The Guardian, the leading team of Ivoirian, Cameroonian and Nigerian football are accused of corruption.
Obviously, Africa is far from getting out of the race. While FIFA is fighting for the improvement of African football with the project Gold, Leading teams of Federation do not care much. Only their own interests are important in their eyes. Taking into account the result of the investigation published by the English newspaper the Guardian, some African Football Federations are unveiled for dishonorable actions. The first on the list, African Football Federation (Caf) President, Issa Hayatou.
The great figure of the CAF according to the Guardian is likely to be the most powerful person in his country Cameroon. Consequently, Hayatou controls over Cameroonian Football Federation (Fécafoot) that is accustomed to financial corrupt practices. As proof, a member of the federation has embezzled 10 000€ to buy a flight ticket he declared lost. More, at the head of the state, the Cameroonian Government find useful to spend 20 Millions € for their own purpose instead of building a new stadium. Concerning the former Minister of Sports, Thierry Augustin Edzoa 150 000€ devoted to the renewal of existing stadium has been embezzled.
