How are you preparing to tackle your second match at the 24th African Cup of Nations?
The next game is very important for us. We are obliged to win. That is why we are working very hard so as to be beat the warriors. We know that we are better than them. But this is not a guarantee that victory is certain. That is why we have to play well in order to win.
During the first encounter against Algeria, Cameroon did not materialise the dozen of scoring opportunities which it had. What went wrong?
Sometimes it happens. You cannot really explain certain things. There are days that you can try and try and will not score even a goal. We hit the bar several times. Maybe we lacked self control. But I am confident that we will do better in the next encounter.
Did the draw of last Sunday destabilise the team in anyway?
No. We are serene. The group has no problem. We know that we played a good game. We will continue to think positively because it is important to be confident. I am sure we will win our next encounter.
Your goal of last Sunday brought glory to Cameroon. Any promise for the next encounter?
I am happy because I scored. But as I always say, football is a collective game. My goal was a result of the joint effort of the team. I had a good pass from Geremi Njitap and I made good use of it. But I feel sad that one goal wasn’t good enough for us to win. I hope next time we will do better.
