Kadji Sports Academy (K.S.A.) will next month represent the Littoral Province at the 2003 edition of the round robin tournament dubbed interpools. The Bikoko-based club picked the lone ticket for the Littoral Province after thrashing A. S Moungo 6 — 2 at the Douala Reunification stadium last Monday.
Their qualification comes on the heels of a turbulent Division II football season in the Littoral Province which saw internal wrangling superseding football actions in the different stadia. To rise to the provincial football rostrum this year, K.S.A presented an exemplary mark sheet. Apart from the defeat conceded against Jeunes of Bonamoussadi at the preliminary phase of the Cup of Cameroon, the nine-year old club had a hitch-free championship losing no encounter all through their journey to the helm. They grabbed the prestigious highest goal scorer trophy thanks to their prolific attacker, Bakari, who netted nineteen goals at the just ended season.

Created in 1994 with the aim of selecting and moulding young talented footballers in the country and beyond, K.S.A will be participating at the final phase of the round robin tournament for the first time after failing thrice at previous provincial finals. In 1997 against Port F.C, 1998 they lost to Caiman F.C and 1999 to Aigle of Moungo. Under the auspices of a solid technical team headed by Heya François. The head coach is assisted by a duo of former first Division players, Abissi Nono and Songo’o Ndjip with Kaham Michel as Technical Director. The team nurtured, with experience, players who have left their mark such as captain Eyoum from Coton Sport of Garoua and Nkuwu from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The boys have already assured the population of the Littoral Province of a first Division ticket next year. According to the Technical Director of the team and former international player, Kaham Michel, his squad has all the technical, financial and moral capacities to pick one of the four tickets for the national elite championship.
With less than two weeks to the kick-off of the tournament slated for Douala and Garoua respectively, the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), in partnership with the Mobile Telephone Network (MTN) have announced a CFA four million francs aid to each of the ten provincial representatives at the 2003 interpools. This however does not include possible special subvention in the pipe line for teams to play in Garoua (North Province). The tournament itself is expected to cost the national football governing body FECAFOOT closed to CFA 60 million frs.
