Roger Milla and Patrick Suffo reveal their belief in the Indomitable Lions’ ability to succeed in Japan and Korea.
Cameroonian football legend Roger Milla has said that he expects « great things » from the Indomitable Lions at the World Cup in Japan and Korea.
« This is a talented team with a lot of focus, » Milla told BBC Sport Online.
« I believe they are capable of performing very well in Japan. »
Speaking at the Hotel Intercontinental, where the Indomitable Lions are preparing for their fixture with Austria, Milla revealed he thought the team’s success lay in close relationships between players and coaching staff.
« I think that this has contributed a lot to what the team has achieved so far. »
Milla added that there has been a marked improvement in the organisation of football in his country.
« The players have been able to focus on playing football, » he said.
« There have been no problems over the payment of allowances and other financial matters. I think that this is not a bad thing. »
Meanwhile Patrick Suffo, a member of the African Nations Cup winning team in Mali, revealed his confidence in the new generation of Indomitable Lions.
« We are determined to do even better than the 1990 team. This team has the talent and the organisation to do it in Japan, » he said.
